This classic two-story Colonial home in Bethel Park had one major drawback—the kitchen. For these homeowners, “cozy” wasn’t a charming description; it meant constantly bumping into each other in their cramped kitchen space. Tired of the lack of room for storage or even a kitchen table, they reached out to Action Builders for a solution.

Incorporating Existing Features with Thoughtful Design
This home’s original layout posed several challenges for expanding the kitchen. Positioned over the garage and adjacent to an outdoor living area that the homeowners cherished, any changes would need to respect these existing features.
Inside, the kitchen was constrained by limited square footage, leaving no room for practical additions like a dining table or island. Balancing the desire for more space with the need to maintain the home’s current functionality required a creative and thoughtful approach to redesign.
Creating an Inviting Space for Bringing Family Together
About a month before we started construction, a storm hit and a tree fell on the house, damaging the truss and chimney. We added the necessary repairs to the project to make sure the home was safe and secure.
Even with this unexpected setback, our design team managed to come up with a gorgeous addition that stayed on budget and carefully considered the kitchen’s layout and all the features the homeowners wanted.
When the remodel was finished, the space featured a roomy center island, space for a family dining table, and beautiful black-and-white cabinets with plenty of storage. Filled with natural light, this addition perfectly matched the homeowners’ love for a farmhouse style with a warm, inviting feel.

Although the exterior work took longer than expected, we still managed to complete the kitchen ahead of schedule while diligently finishing the exterior. The family was absolutely thrilled with the remodel, praising our work for its exceptional quality and attention to detail.
